How to Start a Blog & Earn by Atharavraj CorporationsHow to Start a Blog and Earn ebook

As I've discovered during the creation of this blog, there are countless books about blogging available online, and, sadly, a great many of them fail to impress. For this post, I'm going to review a brand new publication How to Start a Blog and Earn. Is this one worth spending your time and hard-earned money on? Let's find out...

Firstly, it was a little difficult picking out where the chapters actually start and end, and it would have been helpful if the authors had defined each chapter with a larger font for the title and actually listed them as Chapter 1, Chapter 2 etc.

Thankfully, the use of English is pretty clear and straightforward, although using the word "coz" in one chapter is unforgivable. The layout of the guide is a little awkward, though, and the authors need to tidy up the sections and give them a bit more order.

Sadly, the first 7 chapters/sections are pretty sparse and feel rushed, and you will find very little info that will be of much use for starting a blog. Now, what I find odd is that the last three chapters are actually quite decent and give in-depth info on the subject matter.

The book feels like it was written by two people, which it actually is! I do wonder whether a different author wrote the last three chapters, because this is how the entire book should have been penned.

As it stands, the authors need to go back an re-write the first two thirds, or add a lot more in-depth information, at least. I'm afraid that I cannot really recommend this book, especially for the asking price.

Mark's rating:

The last third of the book has decent advice

Lack of useful information
Awkward layout
Feels rushed
Too expensive

Introduction. What is a blog? The book starts by defining what a blog actually is, and this is useful info for the complete beginner who is deciding whether to create a website, blog or both.

1. Pick a niche and find affiliate programs for it. Briefly discusses picking a niche, but this section is very sparse and doesn't offer any worthwhile advice on the subject. It basically tells you to pick a niche and make sure it's profitable - you don't say?

2. Domain name, hosting and wordpress. The author recommends Wordpress for creating your blog and Bluehost as a host. No info is given on other blogging platforms or hosts, which is very disappointing.  It would have been nice to have some comparisons, at least.

3. Choose affiliate programs. This chapter I find a little odd, and it includes a list of travel related affiliate programs (with links) which are described in depth. Amazon and Shareasale are mentioned, but no info whatsoever is given on them. So unless you plan on starting a travel blog, there is nothing here worth reading.

4. Writing blog posts. Once again, a pretty sparse chapter with only the basics covered. The use of the word "coz" instead of "because" is grotesque and lazy writing.

5. Why you need Youtube. Basically tells you to embed videos on your blog. There is know info on the best way to do this. By the way, I recommend using for embedding your videos, which is very simple to use.

6. SEO (Search Engines Optimization). Tells you why SEO is important but does not give any information on how to implement it. The basics could have been covered, at least.

7. Choose affiliate banners. Once again, a very brief chapter which features 8 steps for getting started, but no comprehensive advice.

8. List building and monetising. This is actually the best chapter in the book, and details the best ways to earn a living from your blog.

9. Guest posting. A decent chapter about the subject of posting on other blogs and creating important backlinks.

10. Wordpress plugins. Gives details of 10 plugins that will benefit you, but only if you use Wordpress, of course.

Blogging Made Easy by Amen Sharma, Rumena Begum

Available in paperback and Kindle edition formats, Blogging Made Easy is aimed at both newbies and established bloggers, and will help you attract more visitors and increase online exposure.

It begins with a bio and case study of one of the authors, Rumena Begum, a fashion and beauty blogger based in London. There is also a case study of Katie Corio, an online fitness coach living in San Diego, although she's not listed as an author.

Okay, so there is an incredible amount of information to digest in Blogging Made Easy. However, the chapters are rather inconsistent in their depth of detail, with some areas covered comprehensively, and others just skimmed over.

There are a number of problems, too, with the freebie links no longer working, and there are a few grammatical errors, which is unacceptable from a team that are supposed to be pro bloggers. An update is needed to remove the Google + section and broken links.

This is certainly a book that newbie bloggers will find very usefu…

Affiliate Marketing Ultimate Guide 2019 - The $10,000 per Month Foolproof Method

If you wish to earn money from your blog, then you should seriously consider affiliate marketing. Affiliate Marketing Ultimate Guide 2019 by Ronald Roberts is a very comprehensive guide on the subject, and when I say comprehensive, I mean it!

Many chapters are huge and packed to the rafters with advice. Not all of the advice I agree with, as you will find out, but there is certainly a lot of excellent information here to digest.

The author goes into great detail about what affiliate marketing actually is, discussing the main players, how to sign-up, and which networks you can join. However, it would have been useful to have been given links to the networks from within the ebook.

Some of the affiliate networks mentioned I would not recommend. For instance, JVzoo's products are mostly terrible, making pie in the sky promises which will leave your customers very dissatisfied - as I did - which is not good for your reputation. Clickbank's products are mostly pretty similar, in th…
