Blogging: Get to $10,000 Per Month in 90s Days by Dale Strong

Blogging: Get to $10,000 Per Month in 90 Days
I'm always rather dubious about books which promise huge earnings in their title. Using a big figure in the title, no doubt, helps to shift copies, but will this book live up its title?

At 56 pages long, Blogging: Get to $10,000 Per Month in 90 Days, Make Money Blogging, Affiliate Marketing Secrets and More! isn't the most comprehensive guide I've seen about blogging. However, the information is pretty solid and it has been thoughtfully written in a concise manner.

Update: Now only available as an audiobook.

If you put into practice everything that you are taught in this book, then there is a good chance you'll start to earn some money from your blog. However, I feel it is rather over-optimistic to suggest that you will earn $10,000 per month in 90 days, and it is very rare that any business will earn that amount in such a short space of time. Indeed, the majority of bloggers do not earn this amount even after many years.

The main method given for making money is affiliate marketing with Amazon or Clickbank. However, to become an affiliate with Amazon you will need to have an established blog. So unless you already have one, you are not going to earn thousands within a few months.

While there is a lot of useful information here for the beginner, it's going to take time and effort to build up an income, and there is no guarantee that the niche you choose will become a success. Nonetheless, the information provided will give you a much better chance of earning a good income.

While the author doesn't list or suggest actual niches for you to choose, he does provide wise advice on how to choose the right one for you.

More info could have been given on the essential basics of SEO, and also other blog platforms you could use instead of Wordpress.

Overall, if you're a blogging and affiliate marketing novice, or you are struggling to make an income with your existing blog, this guide will definitely set you on the right path, and it has plenty of useful advice and tips for newbie or struggling bloggers.

Mark's rating:

Pros

Solid and clear advice
Ideal for new bloggers

Cons

You won't earn $10,000 per month in three months
Lack of info on Search Engine Optimisation
More blog platforms could be covered

Chapters

Why Every Blogger Needs This Book reveals how the author was working full-time until he met his cousin at a party who got him into blogging, allowing him to quit his job. I'm not doubting whether the story is true, but I've heard countless rags to riches stories over the years with a similar theme.

The second chapter discusses how to pick a niche you enjoy, micro niches, a brief overview of affiliate marketing, monetizing your blog and researching your niche using Google trends. It doesn't list specific niches, but gives you info on the process of choosing one. More info could have been given here about using certain keyword planning tools such as KWfinder, which I use myself.

The third chapter discusses picking a domain name, choosing hosting, and setting up Wordpress. It's a 5 step guide to setting up your blog. I'll be honest and say that I have used Wordpress which everyone seems to recommend, but it is costly and time consuming for beginners. I believe that Google's Blogger is perfectly adequate (and free!), and is ideal for new bloggers who just want to write without getting lost in the technical side of things.

The fourth chapter helps with writing your first blog post and how to format it using the P.A.S. method which is very useful and powerful. It's a great method to use if you are selling a product that solves a problem.

Affiliate marketing is discussed in the fifth chapter, although just Amazon and Clickbank are mentioned. But the advice is useful and I make most of my income using just Amazon, so it's credible info. Personally, I've never had any success with Clickbank, and the products are aimed at an American audience, rather than a British one, and the promotional material is very Americanised, too.

You'll learn how to make the most of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in chapter 6. Included here are methods for improving SEO such as obtaining backlinks and social shares. However, no info is given on directly improving the actual SEO of your pages, such as the way you structure your page, including the title of your product in the first paragraph, and use the use of metadata.

The importance of Youtube is outlined in the next chapter, and you'll discover why it's not just a video site, but a search engine that is a great source of traffic.

Chapter 8 teaches you how to build an email list, how to collect email addresses, use a landing page and create email that sells.

Guest blogging is discussed in chapter 9, which will show you how to find websites to post on and find out what is working.

In the penultimate chapter, you'll learn how to use all these methods, build up your blog and make money.

The final chapter Keep Growing Your Empire discusses using Facebook ads, creating your product, and making money from coaching and courses.

Blogging Made Easy by Amen Sharma, Rumena Begum

Available in paperback and Kindle edition formats, Blogging Made Easy is aimed at both newbies and established bloggers, and will help you attract more visitors and increase online exposure.

It begins with a bio and case study of one of the authors, Rumena Begum, a fashion and beauty blogger based in London. There is also a case study of Katie Corio, an online fitness coach living in San Diego, although she's not listed as an author.

Okay, so there is an incredible amount of information to digest in Blogging Made Easy. However, the chapters are rather inconsistent in their depth of detail, with some areas covered comprehensively, and others just skimmed over.

There are a number of problems, too, with the freebie links no longer working, and there are a few grammatical errors, which is unacceptable from a team that are supposed to be pro bloggers. An update is needed to remove the Google + section and broken links.

This is certainly a book that newbie bloggers will find very usefu…

Write Blog Posts Readers Love by Henri Junttila

Write Blog Posts Readers Love has been out for a while now and, as I write, it's a best-seller on Amazon. I am pretty excited to have finally got my hands on a copy for review.

Henri is the owner of Wakeupcloud.com, a blog that aims to help people discover how to do what they love, and he has, so far, penned five books.

In this book, the author starts out by telling us how he always wanted to write and how he became overwhelmed and confused when trying to find something that worked. What do I write? How do I create a successful blog? We've all been there!

He aims to reveal everything he has learned while building his own blog and gaining tens of thousands of followers.

This book certainly lives up to its title, and is very well-written in a clear and concise manner. Each chapter is very comprehensive and packed with very inspiring and useful information. I certainly learned lots of new techniques to improve my own writing, and If you're a writer or blogger then you really …
